Experimental data for Section 3(d)
A new form of a known substance is not patentable in India unless it shows significantly enhanced efficacy. That claim needs comparative experimental evidence — generated, documented and reported from our Hyderabad laboratory.

Every patent data engagement is different, because every examiner objection is different. We scope the work against what actually has to be proved, tell you what the experiments will and will not be able to show, and quote before we start. If the data is unlikely to support the claim, we will say so at the start rather than at the end.

Novelty is fragile — publishing or presenting your invention before filing can destroy it. Talk to a registered patent agent before you submit a paper. We are scientists, not patent agents, and we will always tell you which question belongs to which professional.

Common questions.
Do you file patents?+
No. Under Section 129 of the Patents Act 1970, only a registered patent agent may prepare specifications, file, or prosecute a patent application on your behalf. Manna Biotech is not a registered patent agent firm and does not offer those services. We provide the scientific and technical layer — searches, landscape analysis and laboratory data — which is expressly outside that restriction. You appoint your own registered patent agent for the filing, and we work alongside them.
What is a Section 3(d) objection, and how do you help?+
Section 3(d) says a new form of a known substance is not patentable unless it differs significantly in properties with regard to efficacy. If an examiner raises it, you have to show enhanced efficacy with real comparative data. That is a laboratory problem, not a drafting problem — and it is what our lab is built to do. We design the comparison, run it, and give your agent a technical report to file.
Why not just use my patent attorney for everything?+
Your attorney should absolutely handle the law. But most patent firms have no laboratory, so when an objection needs experimental proof they have to send it out. We are that bench — with a founder who holds a PhD in Microbiology and an Advanced Diploma in Patents Law from NALSAR, so the science is generated by someone who understands what the examiner is actually asking for.
Is my invention patentable?+
Patentability turns on novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability. A prior art search is the honest first step — it is far cheaper to learn your idea is already claimed than to discover it after filing. We give you the search and our technical reading of it; the legal opinion comes from your patent agent.
Can you help if my examination report deadline is close?+
Tell us the deadline in the first message. Responses under Rule 24B are time-bound, and some experiments simply take longer than the time remaining. We will tell you honestly whether the study can be completed and reported in time — before you commit — rather than starting work that cannot land.
