Molecular Testing & Analytical Services
A scientist reads your result — not just a machine.
Most laboratories hand you a number. We hand you the number and tell you what it means. Manna Biotech runs DNA and PCR-based testing in our own Hyderabad laboratory, and every result can be reviewed and interpreted by a working research scientist.
Tested in our own laboratory
Sequencing, molecular biology and microbiology — under one roof.
Performed in-house on our own PCR, real-time PCR and Oxford Nanopore sequencing platforms, with a working microbiology laboratory alongside — so a result can be confirmed both genetically and by culture, and analysis is done by our own bioinformatics team.
Sequencing & genomics
Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)
Long-read sequencing with assembly and annotation — strain-level characterisation, genome confirmation and comparative analysis.
Sanger sequencing
Targeted sequencing for gene confirmation, clone verification, species identification and phylogenetic work.
16S metagenomics — bacterial
Bacterial community profiling of soil, water, gut, fermented and clinical-research samples, with diversity and composition analysis.
18S metagenomics — fungal & eukaryotic
Eukaryotic and fungal community profiling — far less commonly offered than 16S, and often the missing half of a microbiome study.
Transcriptomics analysis
RNA-level analysis of what a genome is actually expressing — differential expression, pathway and functional interpretation.
AMR genomics
Genome-level detection of antimicrobial-resistance determinants — resistance gene profiling and interpretation alongside phenotypic susceptibility.
Molecular biology & PCR
RT-PCR — gene expression studies
Quantitative measurement of gene expression, for research programmes, treatment response and mechanism studies.
Primer design & validation
Assay-ready primers designed, checked for specificity and validated in the lab — supplied to researchers and laboratories as a standalone service.
Aquaculture pathogen PCR
Real-time PCR panels for shrimp and fish pathogens — WSSV, EHP, IHHNV and AHPND on tissue, post-larvae and pond water.
Species ID, adulteration & GMO screening
DNA barcoding to confirm what a sample really is — meat and fish substitution, spice and herbal authentication — plus PCR screening for GM elements.
Microbiology & bioactivity
Microbial identification
Identification of bacterial and fungal isolates by culture, biochemical profile and rRNA sequencing — with a defensible taxonomic call.
Biochemical characterisation
Full biochemical profiling of isolates — the classical characterisation that supports and confirms a molecular identification.
Antibiotic susceptibility testing
Phenotypic susceptibility profiling of isolates — the practical counterpart to AMR genomics.
Antibacterial activity
Evaluation of extracts, formulations, actives and finished products against bacterial test organisms.
Antifungal activity
Evaluation of extracts, formulations and products against fungal test organisms.
Why genotype and phenotype together matters
Most laboratories do molecular work or classical microbiology. We do both, so findings can be cross-confirmed: AMR genomics tells you which resistance genes an organism carries, while antibiotic susceptibility testing tells you how it actually behaves — and the two do not always agree. The same applies to a molecular identification confirmed by biochemical characterisation. That is a materially stronger answer than either half alone.
Straight answer on scope and accreditation.
Our in-house molecular tests are provided for research, product development and internal quality monitoring. They are not currently offered as accredited regulatory tests, and we will never tell you otherwise.
Where you need an accredited or statutory report — FSSAI compliance, export certification, pesticide residues, heavy metals or proximate analysis — we coordinate that through our partner network of accredited laboratories. Those reports are issued by the accredited laboratory in its own name, and we tell you clearly which tests are handled that way.

Agri-input & biofertiliser
Soil and formulation microbiome profiling, strain confirmation and shelf-life monitoring.
Research institutions
Sequencing and bioinformatics as a service for academic and institutional projects.
How you receive the result
Choose how much interpretation you need.
Standard report
The analytical result, delivered to a clear, documented format with methodology stated.
Best for: Routine screening and repeat samples
Expert report
The result plus a written scientific interpretation — what it means, the likely cause, and the corrective action we would recommend.
Best for: Investigations, dossiers and decisions
Scientist consultation
A direct discussion with our founder-scientist to design the study, review findings or plan a corrective programme.
Best for: Recurring problems and study design
Charges depend on the test, matrix and sample volume — a counsellor confirms the exact scope and cost for your requirement.
Why the interpretation matters
The report is signed by scientists, not software.
A result on its own rarely solves the problem. Knowing whether contamination came from raw material or from handling, whether a species mismatch is substitution or mislabelling, or whether a pathogen load justifies harvesting early — that is a judgement call, and it is where a working scientist earns their place.
At Manna Biotech that judgement comes from the people who lead our research, not from an automated template.

How it works
From sample to decision, in one window.
Tell us the problem
Share the sample type, what you need to know, and whether the result is for internal use or a statutory submission.
Scope & quote
We confirm the right test, the sample quantity required, turnaround time and cost before anything moves.
Send the sample
Courier it or drop it at our Nacharam laboratory. Every sample is logged with a unique ID and recorded condition on arrival.
Result & interpretation
You receive the analytical report, and — on the Expert tier — a scientist’s written interpretation and recommended next step.
Testing every batch, every month?
For manufacturers and hatcheries testing on a regular cycle, we set up an annual testing agreement — an agreed panel, agreed turnaround, priority scheduling and a named scientist who knows your product and your history. It costs less per sample than ad-hoc testing and it means someone is actually watching your trend line.
Discuss a testing agreement →Request a test or quote
Tell us what you need tested.
Include the sample type, the tests you think you need, and whether the report is for internal use or a regulatory submission — that last point decides how we route it. If you are not sure which test applies, describe the problem and we will advise.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Which tests does Manna Biotech run in its own laboratory?
+
Species identification and adulteration detection by DNA barcoding, aquaculture pathogen screening by real-time PCR (WSSV, EHP, IHHNV, AHPND), microbial identification by 16S rRNA sequencing, microbiome and community profiling, GMO screening by PCR, and whole genome sequencing on Oxford Nanopore with assembly and annotation.
Are you NABL accredited or ISO 17025 accredited?
+
No. Our in-house molecular tests are provided for research, product development and internal quality monitoring, and we will never claim otherwise. Our ISO 9001:2015 certificate covers our management system, which is a different thing from testing accreditation.
Can you still arrange accredited or statutory testing?
+
Yes. Accredited work — FSSAI compliance, pesticide residues, heavy metals, proximate analysis and export certification — is coordinated through our partner network of accredited laboratories. We scope and interpret it, and the accredited laboratory performs the testing and issues the report in its own name. You are always told which tests are handled that way.
What is the difference between a Standard report and an Expert report?
+
A Standard report gives you the analytical result in a clear, documented format. An Expert report adds a written scientific interpretation — what the result means, the likely cause, and the corrective action we would recommend. Most laboratories give you a number; the interpretation is where the decision actually gets made.
Do you offer ongoing testing arrangements?
+
Yes. For manufacturers and hatcheries testing on a regular cycle we set up an annual testing agreement — an agreed panel, agreed turnaround, priority scheduling and a named scientist who knows your product and your history. It costs less per sample than ad-hoc testing.
How do I send samples and how much do tests cost?
+
Samples can be couriered to our Nacharam, Hyderabad laboratory or dropped in person, and we provide packing instructions first. Charges depend on the test, the matrix and the sample volume, so tell us what you need established and we will send a scoped quote.
