What's included
Everything you need, nothing you don't.
Endpoint PCR
PCR support for research, target confirmation and molecular workflows where a defined presence or amplification result is needed.
Real-time qPCR
Quantitative PCR support for research programmes, gene-expression studies and defined pathogen-detection applications.
Gene-expression studies
Plan qPCR work around the approved research question, controls and interpretation needs of a gene-expression study.
Pathogen detection support
PCR-based pathways for relevant research, product-development and internal-monitoring questions, scoped to the sample and target.
Primer design & validation
Discuss primer design, specificity checks and laboratory-validation requirements for an agreed target; validated performance must be demonstrated rather than assumed.
Scientist-interpreted reporting
Receive documented outputs and, where agreed, a scientific discussion of what the result means for the stated question.
Plan your project
Define the molecular question before the PCR workflow
A target-detection question, an expression comparison and a recombinant-DNA construct check need different evidence. Explain the biological question and what material already exists. Method selection, primer suitability and interpretation should follow that question, with the specific scope confirmed before sample acceptance.
Decision 1
Separate DNA detection from RNA expression
State whether the target is DNA or an RNA-expression question requiring a reverse-transcription step. For quantitative comparisons, discuss the measurement approach, assay performance and an appropriate normalisation strategy. A reference gene should be evaluated for the study context rather than assumed stable in every condition.
MIQE 2.0: qPCR design and reporting ↗Decision 2
Choose controls that address the likely uncertainty
Discuss no-template controls, suitable positive material and extraction-related checks where applicable. RNA workflows may also require no-reverse-transcription checks. Tell us about the matrix and previous quality results so inhibition, contamination and assay limitations can be reviewed. A single amplification value should not be interpreted without its controls and method context.
MIQE 2.0: assay controls and interpretation ↗Decision 3
Be precise about recombinant-DNA verification
For an existing plasmid or construct, describe whether the question concerns an insert, a junction, sequence identity or expression. An amplification result alone does not verify an entire construct sequence or prove functional expression. Additional confirmation may need a separately scoped method. This is a planning discussion, not confirmation of cloning or gene-editing execution capability.
Agree how the molecular result will be explained
Specify which primary assay outputs, sample and control identifiers, analysis method and quality limitations belong in the handover. For expression work, agree the comparison and normalisation approach in advance. For construct-related questions, state exactly which claim the selected method can support and which remains unresolved.

The right assay starts with the right question and controls.
PCR work is only useful when the target, sample condition, controls and intended decision are clear. We review those requirements before defining the service and quote.
- Scope-first discussion of target, sample and intended use
- Defined assay pathway for PCR, qPCR or primer-design support
- Clear reporting plan before any samples are accepted
Manna Biotech provides PCR and qPCR support for research, R&D and internal quality monitoring. It is not represented as an accredited statutory or clinical diagnostic service.
FAQ
Common questions.
What is the difference between PCR and qPCR?+
PCR is commonly used to amplify or confirm a defined target, while qPCR measures amplification in real time and can support quantitative applications such as defined gene-expression studies. The appropriate path depends on the scientific question.
Can Manna Biotech help design primers?+
Yes. Primer design and validation can be included in an agreed laboratory scope. Tell us the target and research objective so we can confirm the appropriate route.
Can you help with shrimp or fish pathogen PCR?+
Submit the proposed pathogen target and sample matrix for review through the aquaculture enquiry route. Assay validation, execution capability and reporting use must be confirmed separately; no named screening panel is guaranteed by this page.
How do I send samples for PCR or qPCR?+
Contact us before dispatch. We confirm the research or R&D scope and provide sample-submission guidance appropriate to the agreed workflow. Before preparing material, ask which starting material is accepted, which collection and storage conditions apply, what quantity or quality information is needed, and how labels and controls should be documented. Request guidance for the agreed scope rather than using a generic website protocol.
Is this an accredited or clinical diagnostic service?+
No. Manna Biotech provides PCR and qPCR support for research, R&D and internal quality monitoring. It is not presented as an accredited statutory or clinical diagnostic report.
What should I include in a PCR or qPCR enquiry?+
Describe the research question and target if known, the proposed sample type and count, existing primer or control information, the result or comparison you need, your preferred timeline, and unresolved assay-feasibility questions. Mention whether you propose starting material or already extracted nucleic acid and whether relevant quality information is available. Unknown targets, controls or methods can be stated as questions for review. Do not place confidential sequences, patient identifiers or raw research data in the first enquiry.
